The Seventh Grade Colts came from behind to defeat the Wall Hawks. The Hawks scored first on a pass to their very tall receiver. Late in the second quarter, the Hawks were driving again when Jansen McBride intercepted a Hawk pass at the Colt 10 yard line. The score at the end of the first half was 6 to 0 in favor of the Hawks. In the third quarter, Garrett Bawcom got the first Colt touchdown on a sweep around the left end of the Colt line. Bawcom intercepted a Wall pass later in the fourth quarter. On the next play, Gunter Pennington kept the ball and weaved his way through the defenders for a 90 yard touchdown run. Late in the fourth quarter, the Hawks were trying to tie the score when Bawcom again intercepted. This allowed Pennington to finish the game taking a knee. The Colts won 14 to 6. |
