Longhorns 21 - Broncos 7 The Broncos won the toss and deferred to the second half. Each team had one possession that ended in punts. The Broncos intercepted a Longhorn pass setting up good field position. Riley Sanchez broke through the Longhorn line and set a first and goal situation. Morgan Martinez scored on a sweep to the right. Aaron Gaytan kicked the PAT and the Broncos had the early lead at 7 to 0 with 3:30 left in the first quarter. After the Bronco kickoff, the Longhorns failed to move the ball and punted back to the Broncos. However, the first of five Broncos turnovers started the downfall of the Broncos. The Longhorns scored on a pass. Michael Jenkins stormed through the Longhorn line and the PAT kick never occurred. The refs called an inadvertent face mask penalty. The Longhorns went for two and were successful and the score moved to 8 to 7 in favor of the visitors. Close to the end of the first half, the Broncos were forced to punt from near their own endzone. A strong rush, caused a short put and the Longhorns were in excellent position to score. Jenkins stopped the drive with a diving interception at the Bronco five yard line. With time running out, the Broncos tried the passing game to get a score before halftime. The Longhorns intercepted and added to their lead with a late touchdown. Once again, the Broncos rushed the kicker and blocked the extra point. The score at the half was 14 to 7 in favor of the Longhorns. In the second half, the turnover bug kept the Broncos out of the endzone for the rest of the game. The final score was 21 to 7 in favor of the visiting Longhorns.
